Audioponic: Home Grown Music

Audioponic is the final project of experienced musicians looking to write some devil music. It started out as a 3-piece band named Superfreak in 1997. They played the north Texas circuit at venues like Trees, Curtain Club, Ridglea Theater, Aardvark and were featured on a music television program. Superfreak then branched out into the cover tune scene and played many clubs, events and festivals of that nature. Superfreak regrouped in 2005, kick the crappy cover songs to the curb, soul their souls to Satan, and changed the band name to Audioponic.

Chad Whitestevens is a masterful vocalist with multi-instrumental abilities. With influences like Steven Tyler, Edward Kowalczyk and Rob Thomas, and sounding like Bono, Ian Aistbury, Sting and sometimes even Jimmy Page, he has a unique melody and tone like no other.

Singing in choirs and operas like “Sound Of Music” and “LaBoheme” in Australia, he won a music scholarship and he was a member of the Australian Actors Equity. Chad came to America and got involved in the Jazz choir at CCCC (Dallas) and numerous pop rock bands including SubReality and Stride.

Name:Mike B

Mike Barnett was born a metronome; with Neil Peart, Tommy Lee, and Steven Perkins beating into his skull, he rhythmically evolved. He is a walking talking fully programmable drum machine with soul- the soul of a demon drummer from hell.

Many years of private lessons sharpened his drumsticks to a point. Spewing his youth and powerful drumming in Muff Divers, White Chocolate Lounge Funk, Triggerfish, Superfreak, A-hole and Hollow.

Name:Sterling
Hometown: Deep South
DOB:
Instrument: Guit-Fiddle / Vox
Sterling Smith is an accomplished singer, songwriter, composer, guitarist and all around musician. His music core comes from a variety of influences from metal to folk and pop rock. Sterling strives to create top-notch catchy music from the heart. He also plays many other instruments such as the flute, percussion, sax, clarinet, keys, and many other obscure devices and he makes some of them himself.

Sterling’s past acts include: Alister Axe, The Long Brothers, 976-FUNK, Triggerfish, Superfreak, 5 Leaves Left, and his self titled solo career. Sterling has shared the stage with: Infectious Grooves, Iron Maiden, and Slayer.

Name:Romer
Hometown: Funkytown
DOB:
Instrument: Bass / Vox
Brad Lewis is basically retarded. Hence his love for bands like Retarded Elf. A song putter togetherer and simple single note instrument player influenced by Derek Smalls, Floyd Pepper and Beefcake The Mighty, he has done nothing but waste time and his life playing root notes.
Past endeavors with David Wayne, Triggerfish, WCLF, and Superfreak lead to ( begin name dropping ) playing Fry Street Fair, New York’s New Music Seminar (now called NXNW) where a Warner Brothers A&R representative examined him, featured on Tales from the Edge, and on countless Internet radios and websites. He has rubbed elbows with many cool locals like: The Toadies, Deep Blue Something, Nixions, Tablet, Tripping Daisy, Drowning Pool, Lifesize and Solinger.

Even with all that name dropping, he is still a looser.
